AMIE Annual Meeting on Imaging and Electrophysiology in Neurology, Neurosurgery and (Cognitive) Neuroscience
SuSIE Summer School on Imaging in Epilepsy
NEW !! NEW !! NEW !! NEW !!
The AMIE & SuSIE will no longer be hosted by SoMECS/GmedBKW but instead by the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE).
We are proud that the concept of AMIE & SuSIe, which we designed in 2015 and have since developed further, has convinced the ILAE Commission on Education. We are honored that the AMIE and SuSIE will continue as an official event of the ILAE from 2023.
The current program and booking options can be found here:

Review of AMIE & SuSIE 2020
We would like to thank all participants and speakers at AMIE & SuSIE 2020 for an all-around successful and consistently positively evaluated event.
Over 4 days, 9 scientific workshops, 5 product-related user workshops by sponsors, 13 educational lectures on topics related to imaging in epilepsy, and 2 key note lectures were held.
Over 500 participants in the scientific and educational events attended from 50 countries. In addition, over 280 participants were counted at the sponsor workshops.
Over 50 internationally renowned experts shared their knowledge with the participants. This dimension is a great success for AMIE & SuSIE and a mission for its continuation in 2021.
What took some getting used to for everyone was that the event could not be held as a face-to-face event due to the CoVID situation. Thanks to GoToWebinar®, however, we were able to manage the event online despite a very short preparation time.
Review of AMIE & SuSIE 2021
The Summer School on Imaging in Epilepsy (SuSIE) 2021 was, as in the 6 years before, a success for all. The same is true for the Annual Meeting on Imaging and Electrophysiology (AMIE), which was held for the second time in 2021. Participants from about 35 countries attended 15 different scientific workshops during AMIE, the AMIE & SuSIE Keynote Lecture, and 13 lectures and 4 workshops during SuSIE. In both formats, internationally renowned experts shared their knowledge and insights. Thank you for your interest and the many lively discussions that took place despite the virtual format.
We will continue the AMIE & SuSIE success story, but revise the concept. Core elements of the revision are:
The SuSIE will remain the educational event it has been, with lectures and hands-on workshops on all types of structural and functional imaging techniques, including postprocessing and multimodal image co-registration, aimed at clinically active epileptologists, neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, and neuropsychologists. Nevertheless, we intend to tie SuSIE to ILAE, at least in the sense of an endorsement, possibly even more closely.
The AMIE, whose concept was to explain scientific investigation techniques based on given research topics, will now also become a teaching course, like the SuSIE, with emphasis on imaging and electrophysiological methods in clinical neuroscience. The target audience is scientists, whether they have a medical, psychological, or basic science background. We are also seeking support from the ILAE for the AMIE.
Given the need to carefully revise the concept, to find appropriate faculty, and to take time to connect AMIE & SuSIE to ILAE, we have decided to continue AMIE & SuSIE in summer/early fall 2023 rather than in 2022.
